The SCIP section allows you to provide information needed for submission to the European Chemical Agency's (ECHA) Substances of Concern in Products Database.
SCIP is the database for information on Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects (Products) established under the Waste Framework Directive (WFD).
It is mandatory if you are declaring articles which contain a Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) over the threshold of 0.1% by weight, which you will have entered in the Products tab.
If you have specified that your products do not contain an article with an SVHC above 0.1%, no mandatory fields will be highlighted in red and you can click Validate and lock section to move on without entering any SCIP data
If you have specified that your products contain an article with an SVHC above 0.1%, mandatory fields will be highlighted in red.
The minimum information required is the SCIP number also known as the SCIP Primary Article Identifier.
If you do not have a SCIP number, then you will have to complete all fields in the row.
In this example we will choose part number as the SCIP Primary Article Identifier Type from the drop-down
We will enter the part number into the SCIP Primary Article Identifier field
Click in the SCIP Article Category field
Select the appropriate SCIP Article Category
Select the appropriate SCIP Production in EU choice from the drop-down
After you have answered all of the mandatory questions, click the Validate and lock section button. Correct any errors as applicable.
